Recently I purchased and read a book written by J. Kirk Boyd, an American Constitutional lawyer, “2048: Humanity’s Agreement to Live Together; the International Movement for Enoforceable Human Rights”.

The idea is to make the provision in the 1948 UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights enforceable for everyone in the world by 2048, the 100th anniversary. He outlines the five (5) freedom essential for peace and human security everywhere; Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Religion, Free from Want, Freedom from Fear, and a new recently added Freedom for the Environment.

He argued Eleanor and Franklin Roosevelt envisioned Human Rights for EVERYONE in the world, no matter race, creed, age, ethnicity, or wealth.

Boyd detailed many other unenforceable human rights documents, many which the U.S and Russia refuse to sign and/or ratify. He shows that with recent development; the International Criminal Court, Inter-American Court of Human Rights, African Court on Human and People’s Rights, Swiss Agenda for Human Rights, Arab Charter of Human Rights, and the European Covenant on Human Rights, a World Court of Human Rights is possible, difficult but possible. A solution to force nations to sign and/or ratify could be membership to the WTO, nations that dont sign get suspended or expelled.

Could Human Rights ever achieved in countries like China, the DRC, Sudan, Zimbabwe, Middle East, India, Pakistan, Russia, the United States, etc.? Are recognized and enforceable Human Rights a path to real peace and security?Does a World Human Rights Court subvert national sovereignty?

i find myself in an interesting point of view. i think this is completely doable.. but utterly waste of time to try enforce the human rights. i live in my own fantasy world, a world where people dont kill each other because of their skin color, or what religion they have, or even by the words they speak. the reason why this happens because we all respect the fact that things change and that people have different points of views. the world has become less respectful and more and more into this western way of thinking. the western idea is about the individual, we must get away from this dangerous way of thinking and return to the true indigenous way of thinking, by indigenous i dont mean any specific color, we are all indigenous to our home, called earth. this indigenous way of thinking is based on community, the value system are based on virtues such as love respect trust, etc. this dream world i see is beautiful, where we govern ourselves and we dont have to worry about the invasion of human rights, because we all care for each other and we all know life is sacred. well thats just me, but this way of thinking is coming about, and sooner or later you will think like this, to be free from this corrupt western thinking. to think of others, and not just of yourself. human rights are important. they can be enforced if everything respected this way of thinking.
