This might be something too trivial to worry about, but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to send a thank you to the restaurants and U of O for accommodating us so well. -

MGV Green Forum: 1 year, 6 months agoCheck out the article below. It is a very interesting discussion about geo-engineering, a relatively new science which studies dealing with C02 emissions instead of prevention. It may be controversial, but we need to keep our options open and engage in multifaceted solutions.

MGV Green Forum: 1 year, 7 months agoHungary is a post-Communist country, far behind North America, western Europe and Scandinavia in terms of safety, technology, etc. In principle, I don’t think many people would disagree with you about wanting to rely more on renewable energy sources versus those which are extracted. I personally don’t believe we’ll be ready for that for at [...]

MGV Green Forum: 1 year, 7 months agoClayton, in some countries, modern storage facilities are built to extremely high standards. It is widely known that solar and wind do not produce enough energy for most societies. We definitely need more wind and solar (I think most people among our generation would like to see bigger investments than we are currently seeing), but [...]

Eric Macfarlane wrote a new blog post: Finding the Middle Ground in the Environment-Economy Debate 1 year, 7 months ago
When it comes to the environment, it always seems like the debate is a coin: two opposing sides without a visible middle ground. On one hand, so-called environmentalists rage on about stopping the tar sands lock-stock-and-barrel or dismantling other important economic sectors. On the other hand, certain right-wing ideologues claim climate change…[Read more]
